Camping is one of my favorite pastimes and, and over the years, I have learned that taking along good camping chairs is essential. No matter where you go, you are going to need them. Some camping areas provide picnic tables with seats but they are usually attached to the table. You can not move them to where they are needed and they are very uncomfortable after sitting on them for a while.
There are a lot of outdoor camping chairs on the market today. If you shop around, you should be able to locate chairs that will not only fit your budget, but that will fill your needs as well.
If you are going somewhere and you are not going to be there for very long, portable camping chairs are the answer. You can find folding camping chairs in a wide variety such as the standard metal or wooden folding chairs that are easy to transport. These chairs are very serviceable and will last for quite a while but they can become uncomfortable if you plan to do a lot of sitting. For comfort, a lot of people prefer the lightweight folding lawn chairs and they are really easy to carry. If space in your vehicle is a problem, then you might opt for either a collapsible camping chair or one of the small camping stools. Collapsible chairs are great if you are going to be somewhere for a time and many come with such features as cup holders, pockets for books and magazines, or for just about anything else that you might just want to have right on hand. You should exercise caution with the plastic variety, however, because they are easy to puncture and, even though they can be patched, they usually will not remain nearly as airtight. As for the small camping stools; fisherman love them but they do not allow for much comfort or flexibility.
For those that keep a camping area secured for sometimes great lengths of time, there are some more practical outdoor camping chairs available. If you look around, you can find some very heavy duty camping chairs that will withstand a lot of wear and tear along with the elements. These can be made of metal or wood and should be painted periodically to help prevent damage from several different sources. If you find them uncomfortable, you can always add removable cushion padding that is usually washable and very easy to store.
If you entertain a lot outdoors and find that you need quite a few of these camping chairs, then you most likely can purchase a sizable quantity of them by buying them wholesale. The price would then be reduced and, depending on the type of camping chair that you decide that you need or want, this could be much more economical.
Whether you are an avid camper or just a back yard person, there is some type of chair that will suit your needs. Think about what you are going to use them for and purchase those that will last.
